There are three methods for installing Radiaflect™ – choices that will depend on the nature of your attic and the climate in your region. Your Certified Radiaflect Dealer will recommend the installation method best suited to your home.

On-rafter installation

48-inch wide rolls (Radiaflect P-48) are attached to the bottom side of the rafters. This installation method is best suited for high, standup attics with few uprights. Rafter installations are the preferred method in warm climates.

Between-rafter installation

16 or 24-inch tabbed strips (Radiaflect T-16 or T-24) are installed between the rafters. This installation is best suited for attics with many uprights, like truss attics, which would make an on-rafter or over-floor installation difficult.

Over-floor installation

48-inch wide rolls (Radiaflect P-48) are attached across your attic floor, over the joists and existing insulation. Radiaflect P-48 is perforated to allow vapor to escape when it is installed directly over mass insulation without compromising its effectiveness. This installation is best suited for attics with few obstacles or uprights, and in colder climates.
